The association was founded in 1997, and registered at the Ministry of Justice in 1998.LAUTE has 23 members in 2015.
Membership is open to any person who teaches at university level in Lithuania.
Members must reside in Lithuania.
The Chairperson of the association is Prof. Dr Regina Rudaitytė.
The Treasurer is Dr. Birutė Ryvitytė, Lecturer of English at the Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University.
The secretary and webpage administrator is Dr. Jolanta Šinkūnienė (Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University).
